PICTURE - A shout out to my research mentor Dr. Mark Brenner. With those hands, he managed to summon dozens of lacustrine sediment cores out of the ether and into the lab.

I graduated from the University of Florida with a PhD in Organic Geochemistry. During my PhD, I focused on biomarkers in lacustrine sediments to reconstruct environmental change across multiple temporal scales. I finished my post-doctoral research at the University of Pittsburgh where I studies human-climate interactions. As a Professor of Geology at West Chester University, I now center my research on student interests which often places my work at the intersection of humans and their role in environmental degradation.
