Our lab is always recruiting new students. We value all levels of participation in the scientific process and welcome new ideas and research directions. If you are an undergraduate student looking to build their resume with lab experience, or a graduate student looking for a thesis project, consider reaching out for a list of current opportunities.
Career Opportunities
The Geochemistry Lab at West Chester University has analytical capabilities and research opportunities for undergraduate and graduate level research which are highly transferable to a range of careers.
Instrumentation Training
As a student in the lab, you will be trained on one of the following analytical machines:
-
GC/MS
-
SEM
-
ASE
Thesis Mentoring
I encourage all students (undergraduate and graduates) to see their research through to completion. As such, the ultimate goal of every research project is a conference presentation or a publication in a peer-review
Wet Chemistry Techniques
Students will learn how to extract and isolate a suite of organic and inorganic compounds found in water and sediment samples. These skill are highly applicable across scientific disciplines.
Inter-university collaboration
I collaborate with scientists at universities across the United States and abroad, including the University of Pittsburgh, University of Florida, Notre Dame University, and University of Bremen.
